This photo was published in the award winning Philippe Bourgois work: In Search of Respect - Selling Crack in El Barrio. It's a fascinating study of an arcade in East Harlem which was a front for a crackhouse, including first hand accounts from the proprietors. Apparently, the inside of the locked arcade cabinets were great for hiding drugs.
