Seems Like The Work Of Pathological Weirdos

Blood Diner
Mahoning Drive-In Theater - Lehighton, PA
This week's Thursday Thread-Up was an 80's flick that I've never heard of before - the 1987 horror comedy Blood Diner.

This movie begins with a message informing the audience that "all of the mutilations, bodily dismemberments, and cannibal rituals were performed by seasoned professionals - please do not attempt any of these stunts at home", which pretty accurately sets the tone for the madness that follows.

The story begins when Anwar Namtut, who is a suspect in the Happy Times All-Girls Glee Club slaying, is spotted running from the police while being "armed with a meat cleaver in one hand and his genitals in the other".  He arrives at the home of his two young nephews who he has been training in the rituals of the ancient Lumerians.  He gives each of the boys an amulet that is "over five million years old" and instructs them to remember his teachings so that they can resurrect the goddess Sheetar.  The story fast forwards twenty years.  The boys are running a diner and have brought their uncle back from the dead as a brain and eyeballs in a jar.  The rest of the story is the three of them working to bring the goddess Sheetar back to life.

This may be the most batshit crazy movie that I've seen at the Mahoning outside of VHS Fest, and I loved every minute of it.  If you're the type of person who enjoys horror flicks that are flat out ridiculous, this should be on your watch list.  You can stream it for free on Tubi.
