Standing at the crossroads, world spinning round and roundKnow which way I'm going, you can't bring me downDon't you try to teach me no original sinI don't need your pity for the shape I'm inI don't want to change the worldI don't want the world to change meTell me I'm a sinner, I've got news for youI spoke to god this morning and he don't like youYou're telling all the people the original sinHe says, he knows you better than you'll ever know himI don't want to change the worldI don't want the world to change meYou know it ain't easyYou know it ain't fairSo don't try to please meBecause I really don't careDon't tell me stories 'cause yesterday's gloriesHave gone away, so far awayI've heard it said there's a light up aheadLord I hope and pray, I'm here to stayTell me I'm a sinner, I've got news for youI spoke to god this morning and he don't like youDon't you try to teach me no original sinI don't need your pity for the shape I'm inI don't want to change the worldI don't want the world to change me
