This was the first of two movies that I went to see on Tuesday. Keeper is built on an interesting idea, but the pacing didn't do it any favors. The first 80 minutes dragged on so long that I almost lost interest by the time it started to get good for the final 20 minutes.

The Running Man

The most recent adaptation of Stephen King's 1982 novel isn't as silly and campy as the 1987 film adaptation, but it's a hell of a lot of fun. It's a shame that it's not doing that well at the box office because it's an excellent balance of action, humor, and social commentary set in a dystopian world that unfortunately doesn't seem as far fetched as it should.
