The Dream Academy
The Dream Academy (1985)
The first album from The Dream Academy was released forty years ago today. It's best remembered for its hit single Life In A Northern Town, but instead of talking about that song, I'd like to acknowledge this hidden gem. It's probably best remembered for its presence in the final scene between Ferris and Sloan in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
When you were youngDid you ever love somebodyLike I loveI love you nowCause now that you're olderI see you don't mindLetting go of my hand in a crowdYou don't wanna hold tightAnd when we kissed one nightThere's a million heartsBeating in a rowI wish they go awayI'll say it againThere's a million heartsIt's the break to seeEvery time you go awayWhen you were youngDid you ever fall downGraze your kneeWant to run to someoneCause now that olderI've been falling downI want to run to someoneBut there's nobody aroundI can feel the signThere's a million heartsBeating in my rowI wish they would go awayI'll say it againThere's a million heartsIt's the break to seeEvery time you go awayEvery time you go awayThink about the things I sayThink about it twice as longTell me what's going wrongIn the southern skyThe breeze is so wildThe bridge is so lonelyThe reasons that lifeFeeling so afraidTalking about a, two heartsBeating as oneNow heyNoI'll say it againThere's a million heartsBeating in a rowI wish they would go awayI'll say it againThere's a million heartsIt's the break to seeEvery time you go away
