There have been Star Trek conventions since the early 1970's. This commercial is for one that took place in Seattle 25 years ago today. It was hosted by Gene Roddenberry at the Paramount Theatre 25 years ago today.

According to newspaper advertisements from the time, Mr. Roddenberry presented a special called The Shape Of Tomorrow to fans in attendance. There was also a costume contest, a screening of a Star Trek blooper reel, and I'm sure there were many other vendors and activities for fans in attendance. It sounds like it was a hell of a lot of fun!
