Showdown At The Golden Corral

WPVI - ABC 6 - Action News (Philadelphia, PA)
Here's the situation as I understand it from the news reports: One guy got upset at an all-you-can-eat buffet and began shouting at the cook when the man who was standing behind him in line was given his steak first.  There's a perfectly reasonable explanation for this, by the way.  There are a number of steaks cooking on the grill at the same time, so the folks who ordered it cooked rare are going to get theirs before the people who want a steak cooked medium or well done.  You know... because it takes less time to cook a rare steak, and if you don't take it off of the grill and serve it when it's ready, it won't be a rare steak anymore.

Seems like a pretty simple thing to grasp, right?  Well, according to a man named Alexis Rios, this was the misunderstanding that led to an all out brawl that included over three dozen people throwing fists, chairs and/or tables.  Because it's 2022 and we are all big brother to each other, there's a video of the incident.

This is where we're at, folks.  As George Carlin wrote in Brain Droppings, we're just playing out the string, and witnessing "the slow circling of the drain by a once promising species, and the sappy, ever-more-desperate belief in this country that there is actually some sort of American Dream which has merely been misplaced".
