Brain Freeze For Breakfast

Icee Cereal
Kellogg's (2023)
There are a lot of breakfast cereals that I would be interested in trying, but I don't want to get a huge box that's going to sit around the kitchen taking up space until I throw it away if I don't like it.  I don't think I'm alone in this, and I'm guessing that's why the Wal-Mart in my area got stuck with about a hundred Family Size boxes of this stuff that they have on clearance for 50 cents a box.

If there are any marketing folks reading this who work for a cereal company, here's some unsolicited advice:  You know those Fun Packs you guys sell that have miniature boxes of Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, and stuff like that?  Instead of making the old classics available in mini-boxes, package up some of your new products in those single serving packages.  You'd get more folks to try the new flavors, and some would come back and buy the full size boxes of the ones that they like.

Seriously guys... this thing is as big as a Gutenberg Bible.  There's no way I'm buying something this big without knowing what it tastes like, but hell, for fifty cents I'll give it a shot.

The gimmick here is that Icee Cereal makes your mouth cold as you eat it.  The back of the box suggests that you pour a bowl without milk and put it in the freezer for 30 minutes before you add the milk and eat it.  That's what I did with this bowl, and it definitely has a cooling effect.  It's not overpowering but its there, and it doesn't have a menthol flavor which is what I was expecting when I read the box.

The thing that impressed me the most about this cereal is the flavor.  I half expected this to taste like Fruity Pebbles for some reason, but it really does taste like an Icee.  If you like drinking those, definitely give this a shot.  I have a hunch that they won't be sticking with this one for too much longer.
