What Happens If You Eat It After Midnight?

Gizmo Burger
Rosa's Family Restaurant - Bernville, PA
The world as we know it today is a house of cards on a shaky table, and any number of things could happen in the blink of an eye to cause it to all come tumbling down.  It could be something global, like the Covid Delta variant, political upheaval, global climate change, financial collapse or terrorism (both domestic and foreign).  It could be something personal, like health, the loss of a loved one, or the loss of a job.  More than likely, it will be a combination of things, and most of them will be completely out of our control.  Perhaps I'm being overly paranoid, but the words of Tom Petty ring in my head like a constant warning: "the good old days may not return".

The only thing I can do about this is to take the time to appreciate the things in life that bring me joy - things like small family diners on the side of the road.  We stopped for lunch at a place like that on the way home from the Reading Museum last Friday.  It's called Rosa's Family Restaurant, and it's exactly the kind of place that I love to find when I'm on the road.  It's one of a kind.  It's not flashy or expensive.  It's just a small restaurant with good people who prepare tasty food at a fair price.  The pandemic has hit the families who run places like this especially hard, which is all the more reason to choose restaurants like this.

I was going to have a reuben sandwich, but when I saw the Gizmo Burger on the menu, I knew that I had to give it a shot.  It's not fancy, but it's the kind of fun sandwich that a mom would make for their kids.  The Gizmo Burger is a hamburger wrapped in ham and provolone cheese, cut long to be served on a hoagie roll.  It's topped with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise, and it's delicious!  If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely eat here again.
